Evolver.net's July Event Life in the Universe @ The Whole Gallery featuring The Evolution of Human Consciousness series Evolver.net is a new social network for conscious collaboration. It is very similar to what artalchemycircle.com would be as a full time operation. Evolver provides a platform for individuals, communities, and organizations to discover and share the new tools, initiatives, and ideas that will improve our lives and change the world. Evolver promotes sexy sustainability, yoga glamour, and shaman chic. Saturday July 31st 2010 was the launch of Evolver's Life in the Universe art opening and Celebration of Life at the Whole Gallery inside the H & H Building, http://wholegallery.blogspot.com/ where they explored through discussion, art, and music, the... diverse possibilities of terrestrial and extraterrestrial life in our universe. A lively art show featuring wild works of wonderment, a peaceful parade of peoples, and beautifully bouncing beats all filled the gallery to a viscerally vibrational volume. Jonathan Phillips warmed-up the neurons of all who attended with detailed discussion of divining dual-dimensional deities and the heretical art of holistic heart-healing. Artists Colin Smallwood and Tom Kemp also represented the human side of the ever unfolding universal drama with their series of epic paintings entitled "The Evolution of Human Consciousness." And many a thought was thus provoked by them (literally) hanging around the gallery. |

The "Evolution of Human Consciousness" series features seven 4'x5' paintings depicting various stages of the process of learning and change that the human animal has experienced and will experience during its time on the precious blue water-jewel that it has named planet earth. The first four paintings detail the progress from the first development of mental machinery allowing for objectivity (the brain's frontal lobe, or neocortex) through its struggle to establish societies, governments and religions whilst developing enormous amounts of ego and technology. The fourth painting lands the viewer smack-dab in the modern era where they must learn their own limits, take cozmic responsibility for their actions and reconnect with their higher Self. The final three paintings evolve yet reflect the first three paintings presupposing that man has made the necessary philosophical choices in order to change into an animal that may coexist and benefit the holistic planetary biosystem and restore eden on its homesphere. Ultimately its actions and choices, now running in harmony with what the universally expanding evolutionary force truly wants, lead human kind into realms of earth-wide cooperation, instantaneous access of knowledge through the emergence of a group soul, and ultimately to a reconnection with the vast ocean of universal mind beyond corporeal reality and its third dimensional limitations. It paints a destiny that forgives humans of their past mistakes (we were learning universal laws after all) and depicts the possibilities of a benevolent future unto divinity if we choose to change our reflexive actions in this instant. So it is and so shall it be. Colin and Cheezer really wanted to be a part of the show because their painting series, The Evolution of Human Consciousness, was very synchronistic with the overall philosophy and aesthetic of the Life in the Universe theme. The show was totally awesome, and was filled to the brim with creative talent, like photographer Artfisch, who has created a unique style of photography where she uses long exposures with movement and camera flash for radical effects. We also met James from whatweekly.com, which is an online multimedia magazine for Baltimore events, and of course all the artists, musicians and everyone else in The Whole Gallery and Evolver. The individual paintings and sculpture for the Evolution of Human Consciousness series are not for sale, however we do have prints available purchase. Check out the Purchase Art page for more details. Check below for pics from the show! |
